Winner of the Best Leasing Initiative at the Fleet News Awards
Arval CEO Jean-Marc Torre collected the award which was presented at the black tie ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London in front of more than 900 key players from the fleet industry.
We won the award for our True Cost of Operations model, a tool that allows us to support our customers in understanding their true fleet costs and managing them down. Developed in conjunction with the University of Buckingham it is the most advanced and comprehensive tool of its type in the market and alongside cost supports customers in measuring CO2 emissions and creating a safety index.
The judges commented, "It is a strong, targeted product" that allows managers to appreciate the total costs of their fleet and take action to reduce these costs - exactly what is needed in these challenging times.
Fleet Service award winner at the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards
The judges singled out Arval for the high standard of safety management for our own drivers and the company’s dedication to the improvement of the safety of customers.
Organised by RoadSafe, the Prince Michael Awards recognise achievement and innovations which will improve road safety. Each year the most outstanding examples of international road safety initiatives are given public recognition through the scheme.
Tracey Young, Fleet Manager at Arval, collected the award at a prestigious lunch attended by Ministers and road safety professionals. The event was hosted by HRH Prince Michael of Kent KCVO, patron of RoadSafe.
Fuel Provider of the Year winner at the Fleet Van awards
Arval’s success was largely down to our range of fuel products, extensive network coverage, management reporting and the support that we provide to van drivers. The awards, created by industry-leading title Fleet Van, are designed to reflect the growing size and importance of the light commercial vehicle sector and the critical role that it plays in keeping British business moving.
Winner of the Customer Service award at the FN50 dinner
Grant Angel, from Arval’s Driver Contact Centre, won the FN50 Customer Service Award for demonstrating excellent customer service on a consistent basis. He beat strong competition from the other major fleet companies to secure the award which was presented to him at the FN50 dinner in front of key players from the fleet industry.
Winner of the Fleet Management Service Award at the Van Fleet World Honours
Arval’s market leading fuel card was recognised at the 2009 Van Fleet World Honours, winning the Fleet Management Service Award.
Van Fleet World editor and judge John Kendall commented: “The Arval Fuel Card is more than just a fuel card - it is a comprehensive fuel management system. Extensive network coverage means no inconvenience for drivers, while the VAT-approved invoice does away with the administration normally associated with pay and reclaim systems.”
He added, “The Arval Fuel Card also provides van fleet managers with extensive management information, enabling them to take action against drivers or vehicles that are falling below acceptable fuel consumption targets. At a time when every business is having to tighten its belt, the Arval card offers a way of saving considerable sums of money without too much work on the part of the fleet manager.”
The Fleet World Honours are presented annually to those motor manufacturers, service companies and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector.
Company Driver Safety Award
Arval is a company that consistently leads by example on driver safety. Its education and training programme has reached an incredible number of people, having a huge impact on staff, customers and the wider community. The programme uses a range of channels to get safety messages across, from regular advice bulletins and workshops, to continuous rolling messages from Brake’s pledge to drive safely featuring on the company intranet.
The AA invited them to work in partnership, to develop its latest driver training programme. Through this, they are now passing on their knowledge and experience to reach a whole new audience of company drivers. They have been among the first in the industry to target head on the issues presented by grey fleets, with a communications programme hitting 5.3 million people. The passion and commitment of those delivering the road safety message within and on behalf of the company is second to none. They are continually looking for new ways to ensure that road safety is at the forefront of the minds of staff, and embedded in the organisational culture. Their mock crash DVD, also posted on youtube, demonstrates the lengths the company are prepared to go to, to ensure a hard hitting and far reaching message – this continues to make an impression on vast numbers of drivers more than a year after its production.
Winner: Green Office award at the Wiltshire Wildlife Corporate Green awards
The Corporate Green awards recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice in local businesses. The winners were drawn from across Wiltshire and represent the best environmental practices in the county. To win the Green Office award, Arval was able to demonstrate how employees have managed and reduced their environmental impact in and around their offices, promoting best practise and showing a strong commitment to the environment.
